After getting to Cusco you quickly realize how touristy it is. There are street sellers on every corner, trying to offer you something for ‘special price’. You can’t walk down a street or sit down on a bench without having someone stopping you or talking to you. After a while you don’t even bother to say ‘no gracias’ anymore! There is one market in Cusco where you can avoid that and it is San Pedro Market. It’s like no other handcraft market in Cusco, where you can only buy gringo staff. This is a genuine local market where you can find very interesting things (frogs to eat or medicine plants) and try local food. The sellers don’t care whether you are gringo or not, nobody treats you like a tourist with money…maybe that’s what so great about it!
