In a long term travelling through South America there is never a perfect time to visit a place. You can be at the coast getting tan at the beach whilst it is raining in the Andes. While being in one country you can easily encounter 4 different seasons within a week. So far I really have been taking my time on the road and by the time I got to Argentina it is already autumn. It doesn’t mean though that I got here for the wrong time of the year. On the contrary, any guidebook will tell you that the best time to visit 7 lake district in Argentina that starts in San Martin de los Andes and ends in touristy San Carlos de Bariloche is actually autumn, when the trees start changing colours. The whole journey takes only 3 hours during which you stop at the lakes Machonico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Espejo, Correntoso and Nahuel Huapi, travelling through two national parks: Lanin and Nahuel Huapi.
