Hiking to the top of the mountain is like never ending story. You think you are close to the end, but once you cross that hill there is the next one, and after the next one, yet another one. Though, when you finally get to the top you know it was worth it.
Cerro Lopez is a mountain ridge (2070 m) around 20 minutes by bus from San Carlos de Bariloche. To make it to the top you will need around 4-5 h. After the hike to the refuge, which is pretty easy, be prepared for a lot of scrambling up to the top. The second part can be slippery, very demanding and at times dangerous, but the views make up for all the suffering;) From the top you can see Chile, 360 degree view of Lake Nahuel Huapi and National Park of the same name, San Carlos de Bariloche and Volcano Lanin.
