Partly because of the awful weather and partly because of my lack of enthusiasm for sightseeing, caused by long term travelling, Buenos Aires has not made a lasting impression on me. Besides, I was never a huge fun of big cities and certainly not the ones in South America.
But as in every big city there are sights that you just can’t miss, and for BA that would be firstly San Telmo (read about it in another post), El Caminito and Recoleta Cemetery. Located in La Boca neigbourhood, also home to the famous la Bombonera stadium, Caminito is a street museum and a traditional alley with not so traditionally, but brightly painted houses.
The Recoleta cemetery contains graves (some of them looking like big houses) of notable argentine people, former presidents and the most famous tomb of Eva Peron, the beloved First Lady of Argentina.
Below Casa Rosada (the Pink House – who would have guessed??:) – the official executive mansion of Argentina
Argentine Big Ben:)
